All members must submit a CV and/or portfolio, two professional letters of recommendation and a character reference. Members who do not have industry experience or are pursuing a career in film scholarship are encouraged to submit a supplementary essay explaining how access to MFAS resources will help them make significant contributions to the art. Priority will be given those whose character references are members of MFAS in good standing. If selected, the applicant must be able to participate in an online interview with the membership team.
There are three tiers of membership dues. Please indicate which tier you are interested in the application, as well as any necessary supplementary items necessitated.
Student Membership - $25/annually. This tier is for university students and academics who wish to use the MFAS library and MFAS-hosted events in order to get a foot in the industry and/or expand their studies. Members must provide proof of enrollment/employment at a higher learning institution to qualify.
Standard Membership - $100/annually. This is the standard tier for accepted members.
Producer Membership - $500/annually. Members at this tier are given standing invites to all local MFAS screenings and events, including a plus one, and are specially thanked in all MFAS publications and merchandise. Producer-tier members are also eligible for board membership and committee head roles.
